Plastisol Heat Transfer Prints

Aspinline is pleased to announce Heat Transfer Prints are now available for online ordering and quote requests!

In fact we have been selling Heat Transfer Prints for the last few years behind the scenes to customers who have requested or required them. One of those customers is Nike and Aspinline is an approved supplier. So with hard earned experience and knowledge of Heat Transfer Prints, we are ready to officially make them available.

Here is what you need to know about Heat Transfer Prints:

• They are very popular in the t-shirt printing industry.
• They are applied with a heat press.
• They are a less messy alternative to screen printing.
• They offer more design flexibility than screen printing.
• The ink/transfer is made from Plastisol.
• The film in which the prints are semi-cured onto, is called PET (Polyethylene terephthalate).
•  
• We print using CMYK, so there are no colour limits.

How Heat Transfer Prints are are most commonly used:

• To promote a new fashion release or event by offering customisation in-store.
• Adding team numbers, names and logos to sports kits.
• Marketplace sellers can start off with a relatively small investment and create garments on demand to test the market.
• Customisation booths at events, for adding graphics to garments in minutes.

Application instructions using a Heat Press:

(Please note these instructions may need to be adjusted based on material and the heat press that you use. So please test thoroughly beforehand to find the right balance.)

We recommend using a non stick cover sheet wherever possible, but you may find it's not essential.

Black and white.

1. Set the temperature to 150 degrees Celsius.
2. Apply 5KG weight pressure for 8 seconds.
3. Allow the transfer to cool for 1 min and then peal away the PET film.

Colour PET

1. Set the temperature to 150 degrees Celsius.
2. Apply 5KG weight pressure for 8 seconds.
3. Peel away the PET film immediately.

Washing instructions:

• Wash inside out at 30 degrees Celsius.
• Do not iron over heat transfer prints.
• Do not tumble dry
• Do not dry clean
• Do not bleach

Recommended materials for application:

• 100% Cotton
• 100% Polyester
• Cotton / Polyester blends
• Nylon
• Tri-blends

Supplying artwork:

• Please supply artwork in vector format wherever possible. 
• See our main artwork guidelines here.
• Avoid both fine details and large areas of solid color.
• Allow enough space in between designs so you can cut them out if required.
