Which patch should I choose?
Embroidered is the classic: raised, textured stitching for bold logos and crests. Woven is flatter and finer, for small text and detail; if you can read it on a business card, it will work woven. Printed carries photos and gradients in full colour. PVC is moulded rubber, waterproof and tough, for outdoor and tactical kit. Chenille is the fluffy varsity look for letters and bold shapes. What's the minimum order?

Which backing should I choose?
Sew-on is the best: sewn on properly, a patch will last a lifetime. Iron-on is quick but not permanent, because hot washes and tumble drying weaken the bond, so use it for short-term wear or to hold the patch in place before sewing. Hook and loop lets patches come on and off, the standard for forces, emergency services and airsoft. Stick-on is for one-day events and hard surfaces like laptops. Not every backing suits every patch; your options show when you pick a style.

Different ways you can attach patches
Here are the different backings available for your custom patch:
- Sew-on - by far the most long-lasting way to apply a patch. A sewn-on patch can withstand washes, contact sports and much more.
- Iron-on - lets a custom patch be applied with speed and ease. Heat activates the backing, which bonds to the material it is placed on. Just remember it is not a permanent solution.
- Stick-on - ideal for temporary use. Just like stickers: peel away the backing and stick your patch on.
- Hook & loop - the ideal choice for patches that need to be changed frequently or transferred between garments.
- Heat press - only available with TPU patches, and should only be applied with a heat press machine.
