- Minimum order: per design. (You can split one patch order into multiple colours. The minimum colour split is 5. The base design must not change.)
- Size: The average size of a Chenille patch is 150mm, however you can have any size you like.
- Thickness: 3mm

- Backing options: Sew-On Sewing patches on is recommended by Aspinline.
- Border options: Merrowed (3mm), Laser Cut (2mm minimum recommended)

Chenille patch FAQs
What are chenille patches?
Chenille is a looped-yarn embroidery that gives the soft, fuzzy, raised surface of a varsity letter. The design is stitched in chenille on a felt base, usually with a flat embroidered outline. Chenille patches are hard-wearing and eye-catching, and a favourite for letters, numbers and logos on varsity jackets, team and club kit.
How are chenille patches made?
Thick looped yarn is stitched onto a felt base to build the raised design, and flat embroidery can be added for sharper outlines and finer elements. The patch is then cut to shape and finished with a sew-on backing.
Can chenille do fine detail?
No. The pile is thick, so thin lines and small text disappear. Bold shapes, initials, numbers and simple mascots work best. If your logo has fine detail we can stitch those parts in flat embroidery on the same patch.
Why sew-on only?
The felt base and thick pile make chenille patches too heavy for iron-on or stick-on adhesives to hold reliably. Sewing is the only backing that lasts on a jacket.
