A challenge coin is the heaviest, most keepable thing we make: a 3mm die struck disc with your design in relief on one or both faces, plated and finished your way.

Artwork & delivery
Every order gets a free digital proof of both faces, with unlimited revisions before we cut the die.
Send ai, eps, jpg, png, pdf, psd or zip (20MB), or just a sketch or description for each face. Name the design and tell us which side is which in the notes. Your free proof is created as soon as your order is placed, with unlimited revisions before production. Custom orders travel by tracked courier, usually DHL.

CUSTOM CHALLENGE COINS
- Minimum order: per design.
- Die setup fee: A die setup fee will automatically be added to your basket based on your choices. All setups are saved for 36 months. You will not have to pay this again should you re-order within this period.
- Coin size: In addition to our pre-set sizes, you can also have a bespoke size if required. This would be calculated based on the nearest coin size available.
- Base metal: Zinc or Brass is available. Zinc is lighter and more cost effective. Brass is heavier and therefore more expensive.
Sides:
If single sided is chosen, the backside will be in the plating you have picked (EG gold).
Double sided is required even if you have the same design front and back. We would require two setups to create a double sided coin.
Colour enamel:
7 colours included, more available if required (15 is the maximum available online)
If you choose no colour the coin would be plated only.
Enamel is made up of PANTONE colours from the Solid Coated PANTONE Chart.
Please allow a +/- 10% tolerance range for PANTONE colour matching.
Additional finishes:
Grit texture - Great for no colour coins to distinguish the difference between the levels of metal. Also great with colour coins where recessed metal is presented.
Dual plating - Combine two platings into one coin. Only available when using the opposite plating colour, for example: Gold and nickel (shiny) or antique gold and antique nickel (antique).
Offset printing with an epoxy dome - Recommended if you would like to incorporate a photo or complex image that wouldn’t work in metal and enamel.
Glow in the dark enamel - Available in any colour.
Sequential numbering - Please ensure you allocate a space of raised metal to laser engrave the numbers successfully. You can have any number sequence you like.

Challenge coin FAQs
What is the die setup charge?
Every coin design needs its own steel die, cut once per size. The die setup charge covers that tooling and is shown next to your live price, then charged as its own line at checkout. It is paid once per order, however many coins you order, and a repeat of the same design uses the same die.
What does single or double sided mean?
Single sided coins carry your design on the front with a plain, polished or lightly textured back. Double sided coins carry a full design on both faces, which can be two different designs.
Light or heavy?
Light coins are struck in zinc alloy: lighter in the hand and a little more economical, and they take plating and enamel just as well. Heavy coins are struck in solid brass: denser, with the crispest detail and the richest antique finishes. We advise on your proof if your design suits one better.
Can you make coins with MOD names, logos or insignia?
Yes, we are an officially licensed MOD supplier. Tell us in the order that your design includes MOD names, logos or insignia and we handle the licensing on your behalf. The MOD licensing royalty of 10% is shown with your live price and charged as its own line.
