What's the difference between hard and soft enamel?
Hard enamel, also called cloisonné, is polished after firing until the enamel and metal sit flush, giving a smooth, premium finish. Soft enamel leaves the enamel recessed below raised metal lines for a textured feel, and offers a few more plating finishes. Choose hard enamel for a durable, jewellery-like badge.
Does hard enamel need an epoxy coating?
No. The enamel is polished flush with the metal, so the surface is already smooth and protected. Epoxy is only offered on soft enamel badges.
Can you match my exact colours?
Yes. We match enamel to Pantone Solid Coated references, and your proof shows the exact colours before production. Very fine gradients and tiny details suit UV or offset printing better, and we will advise on your proof.
